Alumni Stories: Albert Giacomazzi
Due to different circumstances throughout his career that led him to want to earn his degree, Albert Giacomazzi enrolled at University of Phoenix in 2004, while working full-time at a partnership.
Prior to attending University of Phoenix, Giacomazzi was involved in a business relationship with four other partners. During his ten years working with them, Giacomazzi always felt as though they had a leg up on him from an educational standpoint, since they all had academic degrees. Because of this, he chose to change his life in a positive direction by pursuing higher education.
“As my education progressed, so did my business acumen. In 2006, while still attending classes at University of Phoenix, I ended my former business relationship and opened AMG & Associates Inc., where I still operate as President and CEO,” Giacomazzi said.
Just two years later he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management at University of Phoenix, graduating with honors. Not wanting to stop there, Giacomazzi continued studying, earning his MBA in 2010.
Both of my degrees have given me the confidence and determination to run my company, engage in problem-solving issues of all types, and be a respected executive in the construction industry,” said Giacomazzi, who started teaching construction management at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2009, after completing his bachelor’s. He would hold this role for the next five years, while managing his business.

In 2016, the Los Angeles Business Journal recognized AMG & Associates Inc. as one of the fastest-growing companies in Los Angeles.
“Since the company opened its doors in 2006, revenue has increased tenfold and is projected to continue to grow exponentially,” Giacomazzi said.
Additionally, in 2017 AMG & Associates Inc. was inducted for the sixth year to Inc. Magazine’s Hall of Fame.
“Inc. Magazine considers thousands of companies for their recognition, and only four percent have received an honoree distinction for more than six consecutive years. I am very proud to say AMG & Associates Inc. is within that group,” Giacomazzi said.
Albert firmly believes his degrees have given him the confidence and knowledge to be a successful entrepreneur. He is proud to be a University of Phoenix alum, where he developed the skills to grow as a business professional.
